Subway NI have chosen Blue Iceberg to provide Subway customers with the ability to join the company's SubClub loyalty scheme and receive discounts and promotions via their mobile phone.

Blue Iceberg have developed an innovative mobile campaign to appeal to Subway's target audience, enabling Subway to build a loyal database of privileged customers. Customers in Northern Ireland who are interested in joining the SubClub are asked to text "SUBCLUB" to 87202 to receive an SMS coupon to their mobile phones which they can then redeem at participating outlets. The coupon entitles the customer to receive a FREE 6" SUB!

Andrew Johnston, director of Fresh Perspective Restaurants, which owns a number of Subway stores across the country, explained: "Extending our loyalty services to mobile ensures that customers will always have the latest vouchers or discounts with them, since people are rarely without their mobile phone."

As a result of this promotion, Subway will be able to establish ongoing interactions with their client base, by sending SMS campaigns to the SubClub database, as and when required. Ongoing campaigns will include encouraging footfall during off-peak periods, encouraging up-selling of products and utilising the localisation aspect of the campaign, which allows individual outlets to send SMS campaigns to customers who use that specific store thus helping to reduce their wastage bill.

Young people in care across Northern Ireland will be able to get advice and support on how to cope in the care system direct to their mobile phones by using an innovative SMS service provided by Blue Iceberg for our client VOYPIC – the Voice of Young People in Care.

Known as 'ShareCare', the service allows young people in care to register for a series of free texts giving advice on how to cope with life in the care system by texting ShareCare to 88600.

The ten top tips, which will be sent over a week long period, were developed and written by young people in care. VOYPIC then selected the top ten to become texts.

Vivian McConvey, VOYPIC’s Director explains just how vital the service may be for young people:
"Young people in care tell us that they often feel isolated and confused – they are often experiencing a great deal of change, and like all of us, they find new situations and new people hard to cope with."
